Friday evening @ the hospital

Friday, August 22, 2008

Okay, the doctor came in and said that Eliah did not have any new bleeding. And he continues to have fevers, so they believe that it's viral and not an infection. However, they are still continuing the antibiotics. We also had an EEG a little while ago. No signs of seizures on the screen. That means his seizure was from the fever. Also, when he woke up from his nap about 4:30, his temperature was 105.2. This is just plain crazy. So we are in the hospital until we figure out the fever, however many days that lasts. Maybe it's Roseola? We may never know.

Anyway, we are going to be going home with a prescription for Valium gel that we will squirt in Eliah's butt if he has a seizure. The doctor was laughing and said, "Make sure you squeeze his cheeks together, so he doesn't poop it out." Nice. And it comes in a two-pack. One for Eliah and one for me. And we will also have oxygen, so we can help him breath through his seizures.

That's all for now. I will update as I can. And thanks so very, very much for the support and good thoughts. This is no picnic, I will tell you that, but I am so thankful for friends and family. Here in the hospital, it doesn't take long to find someone that has it worse than you. And it just makes you appreciate what you have.
