Re: New Eliah Update

Thursday, July 10, 2008

The CT went well. Eliah was in a great mood and laughed most of the time we were at the hospital, even though he hadn't eaten all day due to sedation preparation. But there is no new evidence of bleeding on Eliah's brain. Woohoo! And the inhibitor test will take about a week to get the results. The doctor was fantastic! He got a vein in Eliah's hip on the first try. And even though Eliah was sedated at the time, as soon as the needle touched him, both legs flew in the air, and the doctor had to inject more sedative. But all went well.

The x-ray we did to look at Eliah's port is still in the pipeline to be reviewed. But from what I gathered, the port looks to be the right size for now. And there does seem to be a little bit of Fibrin at the base of the port. Which means they will have to put something in his port to clean the Fibrin from there. Not a big deal though.

And I think the bruise may have come from Eliah's carseat, so I padded it a little in the hopes that it won't happen again. I also plan to give him clotting factor anytime we are going to be in the car for a while.
