What a Difference a Port Makes

Eliah is doing well with his new port.  It's hard to believe that he's had it for three weeks now.  What an intimidating but easy road that was in getting a new port.

I had some concern, based on Eliah's reaction to his infusions, that he might have a leak in the new port.  But just yesterday, while at the doctor's office, Eliah laughed and the doctor told me I'm crazy, so all is well.  I'm just going to chalk it up to behavior and stress on his part.

Here's the great news.  All of the issues Eliah was having with his left arm have been resolved now with the new port in place.  He is able to reach, bend, grasp, and do whatever he needs with his arm.  The pain the leak was causing, hindered his ability to move properly.   But he is back on track now with pressing his talk box at therapy and working toward new goals.  Whew!

Now we just need to tackle some leg issues, get new "magic" shoes, and adjust his stander, and we should be back on track there too.  It will take a lot of time and a lot of work, but I think E-man is up for the challenge.

We've been having a great time with Christmas, the snow, and no school for Natalie.  We spend our time dancing, laughing and baking.  And I'm even in the process of looking for a house to buy.   Things are looking up.
